The College of Drama and Film & Television of the Shenyang Conservatory of Music was established in May 2016. It is a professional college that trains senior art talents in drama and film performance, drama and film creation, drama and film art design, broadcast host and news communication, radio and television program director.  There are 7 teaching units including the Department of Drama and Film & Television Performance, the Department of Drama and Film & Television Literature, the Department of Drama and Film & Television Art Design, the Department of Broadcasting and Hosting, the Department of Radio and Television Directing, the Department of Musical Theater, and the Department of Film, Photography and Production. It has formed a professional core teaching system with four-year undergraduate education, with more than 160 faculty and staff members and more than 1,600 full-time undergraduates.

Relying on the Shenyang Conservatory of Music’s deep historical and cultural accumulation, rich artistic discipline resources and first-class discipline construction level, it closely focuses on the characteristics of drama, film and television disciplines and artistic education, and insists on "rooting the nation, integrating into the era, highlighting characteristics, and serving the society". It has established a discipline construction system with "Drama and Film & Television" as the development base,  and personnel training, scientific research, social services, international exchanges, cultural inheritance and innovation as the main body of construction. It has developed a quite complete and rich the teaching and research work of the drama film and television major has demonstrated the "high-level, distinctive and nationalized" drama and film & television professional talent training goal.
